Early Career Fellowships at DMU

DMU is recruiting for Early Career Academic Fellowships. These are ‘tenure track’ positions and, subject to sufficient progress being made during the first year, each ECA Fellow will be appointed to a permanent academic VC2020 post.Strong applications are welcome from all disciplines, as well those highlighted in the job details.

Candidates should be at the beginning of their careers and outstanding in their chosen field. They must hold, or have submitted for, a doctoral degree or exhibit exceptional practice-based experience, with the potential to become a future academic leader. Appointees will focus on establishing an academic profile through participation in appropriate teaching and learning activities, as well as further developing their research profile or practice. They will participate in a mentoring scheme and have access to professional development opportunities.

About Komali

Komalirani Yenneti is currently a doctoral researcher in School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham and is researching on 'The Social acceptance, Politics and Public Perceptions of Renewable energy implementation in India' . Apart from this current position, Komali also holds a position as a Research Associate at the Sustainable Habitat Division, The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI) and a communications officer at Energy Geographies Working Group - RGS. She is also a part of various international professional bodies such as Royal Geography Society- Institute of British Geographers, American Planning Association, American Architectural Engineering Institute, Royal Institute of British Architecture and Global Environmental Change (UGEC) project which is a collaborative initiative of IHDP-UGEC, SARCS (Southeast Asia Regional Committee for START), and National Taipei University. She has about 3 years of industry and research experience in the fields of Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Energy efficiency and Green buildings prior to becoming doctoral researcher where had the expertise on implementing the projects. She has several papers, book chapters written at national and international level and also has recently published a book on 'Carbon finance and Decentralised Composting Projects'. She also presented at various national and international conferences. She also received various awards such as Vastushilpa foundation gold medal, Hyderabad industries gold medal, W.C Kane memorial peace prize, Brightest Young climate leader, Young environmentalist award etc. She also has several prestigious grants and scholarships in her basket of achievements. Her expertise lies in the areas of Urban Development Plans, Urban regeneration, Decentralization of solid waste management, Green buildings and Energy efficient buildings with energy audits, simulations and policy making, GHG accounting, reporting and carbon abatement under Clean Development Mechanism, Developing Mitigation and Adaption strategies for climate change with focus on cities, urban and transportation planning and specialization on Public transport and Civil Aviation sector
